“Petits Poèmes” House of Jamie AW23
The inspiration for the House of Jamie autumn/winter 2023 collection was a trip to Paris. I imagined myself drinking a coffee in a Parisian café. I’d be sketching a moustached man on the back of a napkin, dreaming of danser avec les étoiles, I mean, dancing with the stars, then buying a fresh baguette in the morning.
Working closely with the in-house team, I created a range of repeat patterns and placement artworks for rotary print. House of Jamie create clothing and homeware ranges for babies, boys and girls.

Ditsy Floral Print for Girls and Baby Girls
A gorgeous ditsy floral! The print balances a sweet look with modern illustration. I love the darker colour palette for the winter collection.
Mr Moustache Illustration For Boys
A playful French character, Mr Moustache is looking in different directions and says, “bonjour monsieur” as ‘Paris is calling’. This pattern worked particularly well for older boys.
Stars and Kisses Pattern For Girls
This is my favourite print I’ve ever designed! The stars and kisses pattern has a scattered layout, as though taken directly from a sketchbook, which actually… it was!
Vintage Flower Pattern for Baby Girls
A really delicate floral print inspired by a vintage illustration. This small print, with a simple repeat is lovely for babywear.
Hearts Mono Print for Babies
This heart print was also inspired by a vintage illustration. I made a heart stamp which created a set a unique splodgy heart illustrations that had a vintage feel.
House of Jamie Monogram For Girls
Using an illustrated ‘HOJ’ logo from the brand’s achieve, the brief was to develop a monogram pattern reminiscent of heritage fashion brands.
Illustrated Baguette Pattern for Boys
A modern style illustration of a baguette with text underneath was put into a diagonal repeat pattern that gave it a graphic, but playful look.
Swan Print for Girls and Baby Girls
A simple swan repeat on a navy background. Such a commercial design that worked really well on kids and babywear garments.
Multicoloured Stripes for Kids and Babies
The final print request was to pull some of the key colours that hadn’t been used in other prints together to create a nice little multicoloured stripe pattern. I always think stripes are a great way to pull a collection colour palette together.
All prints were designed to House of Jamie’s brief and delivered as seamless repeat patterns with Pantone references.
